Have Pups, Will Travel
I love nothing more than a nice relaxing weekend with no concrete plans, and keeping stress to a minimum.
So naturally, I manage to plan trips every weekend. And to add to the chaos, why not bring my 4 month old puppies along for their first dog show?
For those who don't know, I whelped my first litter of puppies in late December. It has been such an adventure (more to come on that), and they truly bring so much joy into our lives. Probably the most stressful event to date was travelling with all 5 of them to North Carolina, so their sheltie family could see them and help me evaluate them.
Luckily, this past weekend was much less stressful with only 4 dogs on the way up to Connecticut (2 puppies, mom Potato and great-uncle Theo), and 3 coming down. Sadly, Potato went back to her owner in Connecticut.
I've been going to the Western Massachusetts Shetland Sheepdog Club specialty shows since I got my first sheltie, Theo. Last year, Theo went Winners Dog- which was very exciting, but this year (even more exciting) - the weather was by far the most beautiful! We had clear skies, warm weather, and a great time had by all.
The puppies showed like rock stars, and I could not have been more proud. All those hours and effort spent socializing them was totally worth it!
